We have an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Manager looking after our Depots to join us working remotely with some travel to our sites. Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Solution Manager, the Solution Manager will create, document & implement innovative solutions to solve operational problems, client solutions and deliver new products. Quantifying their cost and impact on the network through detailed operational & cost modelling.  The Solution Manager will focus & specialise on our HUB network, whilst supporting other areas such as Depots & Client solutions when required, ensuring proposed changes are documented, assessed & delivered following sign off by the wider team & key business areas.

You will be accountable for:

  • Designing, embedding, and continually improving an Ops Discovery strategy to generate, assess and catalogue ideas for operational improvement in line with business levers and strategy.
  • Proactively liaise with Change, Innovations, IT, Commercial, Marketing and Product teams to capture all potential developments, ensuring they are added to the solutions roadmap where a client or operational change is required.
  • Building strong relationships with Operational teams and Support functions to continually develop operational knowledge and capture any improvement ideas that need to go through Ops Discovery.
  • Being a leader within the Ops Development / solutions function to generate and recommend your own improvement ideas.
  • Design, Cost & Implement strategic operational change, delivering new ideas, products and initiatives whilst collaborating with the relevant operational experts including Systems Specialists, Process Managers and Finance Managers, to ensure solutions are feasible and the impacts fully understood.
  • Developing, maintaining, and continually improving a core Operational Cost Model to quantify solution costs more efficiently, using Ops Data Science resource where appropriate.
  • Leading implementations to ensure the operation successfully embed new solutions & change whilst supporting monitor delivered vs planned project benefits.
  • Providing cover for the Senior Solutions Manager, picking up and delivering on all associated responsibilities in their absence.
  • Potential to lead & manage a solution engineer & the Graduate rotation (if applicable).
  • Inspiring a high performing team through strong leadership, effective performance management, talent development and succession planning within your function

To be successful you will require:

  • Degree level education preferably within a Supply Chain Management & Logistics, Project Management, Planning or Business Analytics discipline
  • Experience working with Change Functions
  • Experience in process mapping and solution design
  • Solution design and costing experience
  • Full UK Driving License and ability to travel
  • Experience in building business cases and value stream mapping
  • Experience working with Change Functions

  • Strong stakeholder management to be able to influence at all levels, including the directorate
