We’re Hiring! Hub Manager – Twilight Shift (END Operations) ¦ Barnsley

Join the Team That Closes the Day and Sets Up the Next

Barnsley Hub is fast‑paced, high‑volume and absolutely critical to how millions of parcels reach customers every day. Our Twilight shift plays a pivotal role ensuring the smooth close of daily operations and setting the network up for success overnight.

If you thrive on pace, leadership and accountability, this is your moment. Step into a role where your impact is immediate and visible — leading the END operation and ensuring every shift finishes strong.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Hub Manager (Twilight)

As our Hub Manager – Twilight Shift, you’ll take ownership of the END operation, leading the safe, compliant and efficient close‑down of daily hub activity. Starting from around 19:00, you’ll oversee the transition between day and night operations, ensuring performance remains high, processes are followed and the hub is set up for the next shift.

You’ll lead Operations Managers, drive performance through data, and ensure we consistently deliver against service, cost and safety targets.

This is a role for someone who thrives on accountability, operational control and leading teams through critical handover periods.

Key Responsibilities

Lead END Operations
Take full ownership of the Twilight shift, ensuring all end‑of‑day activity is completed safely, efficiently and to plan.

Drive Performance at Close of Play
Ensure all parcels are processed, dispatched and handed over in line with network expectations.

Lead & Develop Teams
Coach and support Operations Managers to deliver strong results during a critical shift window.

Manage the Handover
Ensure a seamless transition between day and night operations, maintaining clear communication and operational continuity.

Use Data to Make Decisions
Monitor performance, volumes and cost to make real‑time decisions that protect service and efficiency.

Plan Resources Effectively
Ensure the right resource is in place to deliver the END operation successfully, particularly during peak pressure periods.

Champion Health & Safety
Lead from the front on our Go Home Safe culture, ensuring all activities meet legal and company standards.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Operational Leadership Experience in a hub, logistics or fast‑paced environment
  • Strong Decision-Making Skills — confident managing performance in real time
  • People Leadership — able to inspire, coach and hold teams accountable
  • Analytical Mindset — comfortable using data to drive operational outcomes
  • Strong Communication Skills — especially across shift handovers
  • PC Literacy & Full UK Driving Licence
