Software Engineer – Build, Enhance and Scale Evri’s Digital Platforms

Ready to develop production‑grade software and grow your engineering capability at scale?

At Evri, technology underpins everything we do. Our Engineering teams are building modern, cloud‑native platforms that support millions of parcel journeys every day. As we continue to invest in platform modernisation, automation and engineering best practice, we’re looking for Software Engineers who are excited to build high‑quality software and accelerate their full‑stack journey.

Join us as a Software Engineer and you’ll be a fully contributing engineer, designing, building and maintaining reliable, scalable software while developing your skills across the stack. If you’re passionate about clean code, collaboration and continuous learning, this is a great opportunity to grow your impact.

This role can be based remotely, with travel to Morley when required.

What you’ll be doing

As a Software Engineer, you’ll work closely with other engineers, product managers and delivery teams to build and maintain production‑grade software. You’ll bring strength in either frontend or backend engineering, while being supported to broaden your experience into full‑stack development.

You’ll contribute to feature delivery end‑to‑end, applying modern engineering practices, participating in code reviews, and helping to raise quality and consistency across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high‑quality software solutions that meet business and user needs.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end features, from design and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing support.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including clean architecture, design patterns and coding standards.
  • Write clean, testable and maintainable code, prioritising simplicity and long‑term maintainability.
  • Implement and maintain robust testing strategies, including unit, integration and automated tests.
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Delivery and Engineering peers to align solutions with business goals.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps practices to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Build and maintain production‑grade services that are secure, reliable and compliant with architectural standards.
  • Continuously develop your technical skills and stay up to date with modern engineering practices and technologies.

Interested? Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer with depth in either frontend or backend development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Java/Spring Boot or JavaScript/TypeScript with React or Vue.
  • Understanding of software design principles and component‑based architecture.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit and integration).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Awareness of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles and automation practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from others.
  • A growth mindset and motivation to develop broader full‑stack capability.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
